Fly tying classes Autumn through Spring

The Instructor is Chris Reeves; ably assisted by Caroline Emmet and Mark Griffiths.

The hall is booked from 7.30 to 9.30 and this includes our setting up time. Tea and coffee / soft drinks and biscuits are provided. Fees remain at £5 for FDG members and £10 for 2 visits for non members. Hooks and materials will be provided.

Generally, fly tying classes are held on a Monday night from September through April.

When necessary actual classes are sometimes replaced with Zoom classes. Best to check (via an email to enquires@surreyflydresser.org) if coming for the first time.

All materials and fly-tying lamps (see below) will be provided. Vices and tools can be provided for the beginners.  Intermediate tiers should bring their own vice, basic tools and materials, (tying silk, hooks, varnish etc).

Please Note: All electrical equipment (Branch supplied Fly tying lamps) must be Portable Appliance Tested (PAT) prior to use. If you bring your own lamp etc. you will be requested to show that the equipment is PAT checked. This is a requirement of the Booking Hall venue.

The cost for each night is £5 for Fly Dressers’ Guild members and £10 for anyone who is not a member of the Surrey Flydressers’ Guild.  The fees covers the hire cost of the hall and materials and light refreshments. Due to the requirements of our insurance policy, non-members can only attend two sessions a year.
